AIDA World Insurance Congress to be Held in Singapore in 2031

For the first time in more than half a century, the AIDA World Insurance Congress will be hosted in Asia, marking a historic milestone for the global insurance and reinsurance community.

The Insurance Law Association of Singapore (ILAS) is honored to announce that it will host the AIDA World Insurance Congress 2031 in Singapore, with the steadfast support of the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB). This landmark event is set to bring together regulators, legal experts, insurance practitioners, insurtech innovators, and academics from across the globe.

Carlos Estebenet, President of AIDA World, shared his enthusiasm: “The Presidential Council has finally approved ILAS’ proposal, so we have the pleasure to confirm that the 2031 AIDA World Congress will be held in Singapore.”

Chandri Gunawardhana, President of ILAS, expressed gratitude and excitement: “ILAS submitted its proposal to host the 2031 AIDA World Insurance Congress in Singapore, the first AIDA global conference to be held in Asia, with the support of the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau of the Singapore Tourism Board and the endorsement of Singapore’s Ministry of Law and the Law Society of Singapore. We are delighted that AIDA World has accepted our proposal and decided to choose Singapore as the venue for the 2031 Insurance Congress. ILAS will be engaging related stakeholders in the lead-up to 2031 with the aim of developing an interactive and engaging programme.”

Dr. Edward Koh, Executive Director of SECB, highlighted Singapore’s strategic importance: “The Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau is pleased to support ILAS and AIDA World in the hosting of the AIDA World Insurance Congress 2031 in Singapore. It marks the first time the event will be held in Asia in the Congress’ 62-year history. This is a testament to Singapore’s strengths as an insurance and reinsurance hub, in providing a conducive and stable environment for industry stakeholders to operate, innovate and resolve disputes effectively. We look forward to working closely with ILAS to ensure the AIDA World Insurance Congress 2031 is a success.”

Further details about the AIDA World Insurance Congress 2031, including programme highlights and participation opportunities, will be announced in due course.
